Do you buy books but never read them?
I buy a lot of books.
But I don’t read them.
It’s a thing. But I don’t want it to be a thing.
Why do I do this? Why do we do this?
Well, I can only speak for myself. I buy books that I believe will promise some relief or fun or insight that I’m excited about BUT the sitting down and reading and scheduling of reading on a consistent basis is something I have not committed to.
So, that’s the only issue. When I sit down to read, I don’t want to. I think all sorts of things like, “um should you be doing this? Don’t you have a million actual problems to solve? You can’t focus on one thing at a time, it’s just not something you’re good at.” and so on.
So, if I want to read more books,
it just has to be on my schedule
I have to respect my schedule
I have to have some words ready to combat my brain’s desire to not want to read
I have to see progress (“wow it’s working, I’m doing it!!”)
I have to stick with it even when I don’t want to in the moment
And if I want that to happen, I have to:
understand what I’m thinking
choose new thoughts
Then I get to happily have new results, like lots of books being read!!
Here’s a little roundup of books I want to have read:

Wish me luck!
