Where to begin when developing your marketing plan.
Most people jump right into creative work (writing / graphic design / etc.) when content planning and marketing. But the first step should always be deciding on your numbers.
Content creation and marketing ends up feeling random if you’re not sure what your goals actually are for that content.
Being good at the creative stuff is important, but if it’s not in full support of your financial goals, you’re just missing out on how powerful both can be together.
Here’s a list of the numbers to consider when planning content–
Sales
Growth
Engagement
S A L E S
How much do you want to make each month? And with which products? I suggest trying to sell one thing at a time–direct all your content to that product. Of course, this can sound more relevant for our service-based business friends. if you’re a product-based business, no doubt you’ll have a collection of different types of items, but they’re more than likely all technically one type of product category.
Really, you can decide how much money you want to make. If you’re new at this, what I think is best is to look at your best month and decide you’re going to double that.
So, if you’ve made $2000, the new goal is $4000.
Then we decide how you’re going to get there. How many products do you need to sell to get to $4000?
