How I finally made my business a dream (for me).

I think I have high expectations.

Actually I KNOW I have high expectations. And I like things to happen quickly.

Or at least I used to.

This year marks 6 years of running Cleveland Flea. And because of the factors of my own circumstances (how I think, what type of business I’m in, how little support I had until this year) it took me until now to really love my business.

I’m glad I stuck it out.

You know they always say that the sun starts to come up right at the darkest moment or some shit like that. I think it’s true.

I know SO MUCH about business and my business, in particular. There is NO way I’d leave it now. I’m fully obsessed with every part of it.

I no longer look at problems as problems. I mean some problems are just problems but mostly everything is just an exciting challenge to me that I KNOW I can solve.

But this took a while. And in particular what it took was me being fully fucking committed. Not one foot in one foot out. Not having a day job as well as this event. I even had to close my other business in order to fully focus on this AND I DIDN’T EVEN REALIZE THAT AT THE TIME.

It’s only been in the absence of Indie Foundry that I’ve begun to really see my place in Cleveland Flea and have stepped into CEO like a true boss.

So, stick with it. It might take longer than you think.

But you won’t know until you get there.

Happy Friday, bosses!
