I'm headed to Paris– here's my to-do list.
One reason I moved to Europe (well, I’m officially in the Middle East) is that I want to be able to easily travel between many different places on my bucket list. This weekend, I’m headed to Paris where one of my best friends lives.
I’m headed to Paris. I can already smell the baguettes and feel the sun on my face as I stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg. It’ll be my first international trip since I moved out of the country and I’m so excited.
Because it’s not yet tourist season in Bodrum, I’ll be transferring through Istanbul with a layover so it’s a longer trip than when direct flights will be available soon. On Turkish air, I can take a carry on AND check a bag for free– which will come in clutch when I bring 5 (the max) bottles of beautiful (and super inexpensive) rosé home with me (plus a few new looks to add to my European capsule).
So, what’s my plan? I’ll be in Paris for 4 days and 4 nights. I arrive at 3pm on Friday so I’ll get to my hotel (the super adorable Hôtel des Academies et des Arts in the heart of the 6th), settle in and then head out to find a sidewalk cafe spot for dinner. If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for cool and modern hotel brands, and my hotel is a sibling in a family of really charming hotels. So, after 2 days at Academies et des Artes I’m switching to another of their hotels in Montmartre called Monsieur Aristide. And that makes a lot of sense because on Sunday night I’m attending Moulin Rouge with friends (for the first time weirdly) and it’s just a 5-minute walk from my hotel.
Saturday I plan to explore and do a little prep for a late afternoon photoshoot that I booked via Flytographer. It’s time to get some new (European!!) content to share. I’ll look around for great locations, decide what I’m wearing, maybe grab a few new things (eeek!) and pick out a few fun spot to stop at (vintage shopping anyone??). Sunday, I’ll browse the marché aux puces with a friend (the first person I interviewed with in Cleveland actually!) and hopefully score some really unique flea finds.
Here’s an informal and partial list of things I want to do in Paris this weekend–
Dinner at a sidewalk café
Strolls through neighborhoods while ducking into anything that looks fun (or tasty!)
Museums, museums, museums
Architecture– so many beautiful places to visit from Sacré Coeur to Notre Dame
Baguettes (and really any beautiful french pastry)

Walk / run along the Seine
Stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg
Shop (or at least browse) some beautiful shops
